A fiery, dynamic performer

Pete has performed his poetry for many years in theatres,

arts centres, music events and schools. He has written and performed several theatre/poetry shows, notably Young Lions!,

a show about World War I and the show of the book: Between the In-Breath and the Out.

Pete comes from an acting background and his often intense  and energised presentation reflects this. His understanding of dramatic dialogue informs a great deal of his writing and its portrayal.

He uses acting skills to open out and fully communicate the emotional heft of his poems:

“Acting isn’t ‘adding on’. It’s not ‘something extra’.

It’s revealing. My only goal is to try to unveil the truth of what’s written, communicate the emotions in an honest, empathetic way. Simply put: If I’m authentic, if I believe what I’m writing and enacting – then, hopefully, you will too.”
